FASTag - Annual Pass 2025

 

What is the FASTag Annual Pass?
The FASTag Annual Pass is a prepaid tolling option introduced by NHAI and IHMCL for private vehicle owners. With a one-time payment of ₹3,000, users get up to 200 toll-free trips or 1 year of unlimited travel—whichever is earlier—on all designated National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) toll plazas. Activation starts from 15 August 2025 via the Rajmarg Yatra app or NHAI website. Only private cars, jeeps, and vans are eligible. After expiry, the FASTag reverts to normal use.

Where can I buy it?
The pass is available only on the Rajmarg Yatra App and NHAI official portal. No banks or physical outlets offer it.

How to activate it?
Ensure eligibility, then pay ₹3,000 via the app or portal. The pass activates within 2 hours and links to your existing FASTag.

Do I need a new FASTag?
No. Your current FASTag works if it is:

  • Properly affixed on the windshield
  • Linked to a valid Vehicle Registration Number (VRN)
  • Active and not blacklisted

Where is it valid?
Only at NHAI-managed NH and NE toll plazas. Not valid on:

  • State highways
  • Private expressways
  • Urban or municipal toll booths

Validity:
The pass is valid for 1 year or 200 trips, whichever comes first. After that, it switches to standard usage unless renewed.

Who is eligible?
Only private, non-commercial four-wheelers (cars, jeeps, vans) based on VAHAN database. Misuse on commercial vehicles cancels the pass.

Is it transferable?
No. The pass is vehicle-specific and cannot be moved to another vehicle or FASTag.

Is windshield installation required?
Yes. Tags must be firmly installed on the windshield.

Can I apply if my FASTag is linked to a chassis number?
No. The FASTag must have a valid registration number (VRN) updated.

What counts as a trip?
– Each crossing at a traditional toll = 1 trip
– One entry-exit cycle on a closed-loop expressway = 1 trip

Do I get alerts?
Yes. SMS notifications are sent to your registered mobile number regarding pass usage and updates.

Is it mandatory?
No. This is an optional scheme. Regular FASTag users can continue with standard toll deductions.
